Embracing the Oil and Stains!
Marriage to a diesel mechanic is a continuous journey marked by grease stains, fingerprints, and an endless stream of laundry. Whether it's constantly tidying up after my husband's smudges or finding your once white linen cabinets now marked with unknown stains, life as a diesel mechanic's spouse is certainly far from spotless!
Living with a diesel mechanic means immersing yourself in a world where grease and grime are your new enemies. From the moment you wake up to the end of the day, the telltale signs of a hard day's work cling to every surface.
As I navigate through daily life, I quickly realize that pristine hands and immaculate nails are of the past. Instead, I embrace the roughness of calloused palms and the stubborn marks that seem to find their way onto every surface. No matter how diligently my partner tries to clean up after a day at his shop, his daily hard work stains his hands.
Laundry room becomes a battleground, with each load is a test of your patience and skills. I seriously need a washer for his work clothes and another one for all of our good clothes. It doesn't matter how much Affresh I use to clean it, or bleach I use with my white towels, they always get stained by mechanic hands.
It's all about seeing the beauty in the grease stains, finding art in the imperfections, and realizing that those hands that holds mine at the end of the day are not just dirty - they're the hands of a hard-working, dedicated soul who loves me more than all the smudges and stains in the world!
Thinking of taking stock in Affresh for my washing machine.
Recently, I had to purchase a new washing machine. I've noticed that I need to clean it more often, especially after washing my husband's greasy work clothes. In the past, I used to wash load after load and would forget to clean the machine before washing our nicer clothes, resulting in some items getting stained. Now that he has his own business, they provide uniforms and offer a laundry service where they pick up the clothes and even starch them. However, my husband, doesn't like the starch. He prefers when I use fabric softener because the fabric irritates his skin when he sweats. Therefore, I'll make sure to keep washing machine cleaner on hand to ensure his work clothes are comfortable for him.
Embracing the Chaos
Every time I see my husband covered in grease, I am reminded of the sacrifices he makes to provide for our family and pursue his dreams. His commitment to his work is not just a job but a passion that drives him to excel every day. And as his partner, I take pride in standing by his side, knowing that together we can overcome any challenge that comes our way.
So, to all the diesel mechanic's wives who understand the struggles and joys of this unique lifestyle, I raise a toast to our resilience and unwavering support. May we continue to find humor in the messiest of situations, keep our spirits high, and celebrate the love that binds us together through the grease and grime of everyday life.
