My first experience was also my last and I'm about to try again. Well, now that I have researched and watched videos. Hopefully, I can do this.
So... My first experience consisted of one trying to impress my new boyfriend, now husband, so I guess it worked. Ha Ha
We were going to have fried chicken, mashed potatoes gravy, and sweet corn on the cobb. Well, it sucked.
First of all, the chicken wasn't fully thawed because I forgot to take it out of the freezer and had to call home for them to take it out just a few hours before I got home. Then do the 30 minute quick thaw (that is never enough). Anyways, we breaded the chicken and put it in the fryer. MMMMMMmmmh, it is crisping up nicely.
In the realm of Hungryville, a lavish banquet was meticulously arranged, resembling a high-end art display. Despite our stomachs rumbling in unison, we realized that we had missed our usual 5 pm dining time by a long shot. Finally settling down at the table with the eagerness of a squirrel unearthing a hidden acorn, we were excited to dig into the culinary masterpiece before us. However, our anticipation turned to disappointment with the first bite, revealing a dish that was as unappetizing as broccoli-flavored ice cream - a cruel trick orchestrated by the culinary gods. It became clear that a crucial step had been overlooked in the preparation process, resulting in this culinary catastrophe. What was meant to be a night of gastronomic delight transformed into a lesson in kitchen mishaps. This humorous tragedy served as a reminder that good intentions alone cannot avert a culinary disaster.
For those who are not skilled in cooking, it's important to avoid cooking frozen foods and to utilize a thermometer, as they are designed for that purpose. Haha!
My fried chicken attempt was so terrible that my family advised me to never try it again. As a result, I've been using the shake n' bake method all these years. However, now it's time for a change!
This time, I will attach a video to this post of me making fried chicken. I could use some advice from experienced cooks in this area.
