"Have You Ever Felt Like There Were Angels Watching Over You?"

Ever have a moment when you needed God quickly & with a shout of His name, He shows you a miracle?

My story, well stories, are often because I am riding in a vehicle and being dumb. This article is about 2 car wrecks.

I had worked at Applebee's back in the day of 1998-99. I was 21 years old at the time and foolish still. One weekend my co-workers and I decided to go out to the dance club like we always did, but this time was different. A new girl at work wanted to go and she was only 18, so as someone who was under age, still able to get in, and not going to drink, she obviously became the designated driver for the night.

My roommate & I got ready and our new friend came to pick us up. Everything was fine, we were excited and ready for a fun night with our own dd. During the dancing and socializing, I didn't see our new friend that often. She would be hanging out with us and then leave again to the bathroom. I didn't know at the time, but she was going to sneak drinks from some friend she met there. She made plans to meet up with a group of people and go party after the club closed. My roommate and I agreed to join in, instead of us crashing at my apartment. I really don't know the people or this girl still, but hey. I was going along with it all. It sounded fun.

When it came closing, we see outside that it has just started to rain. Light rain but enough to bring that oil to the surface of the roads. We get into her car. It's a sporty 2 door car. I am in the passenger seat and my roommate is directly behind my seat. We get in and have to pull out of the parking area, turning right & going southbound, she pulls onto the road. The road is not just any road but a 4-(6in a couple spots) lane highway where there are semi-trucks everywhere all day and night. It's a crowded highway usually from the truck stops that are down from the clubs.

We get in and pull out. Driving fine heading away from the club. All of a sudden we make a decision to go back to the club and find the person we needed to follow for directions. I am not sure why she didn't already have them in her sights to follow. She pulls from the right lane and crosses quickly to the turn lane at the stop light we came to, she makes a U-turn at the light and is now in the far right lane headed the direction we just came from, going North.

Again, we are in the right lane. semi trucks are coming from the opposite direction and lined up in both southbound lanes. Our lane and the lane next to us are heading North at this time, both lanes are also full of semi-trucks. Mind you it is still raining slightly, and roads got a slickness to them at this time.

Suddenly she spots the car of the person we are to be following, they are coming towards us from the southbound lanes, and in an instant she decides, from the right hand lane, to make a U-turn and join in with the southbound traffic....I yell, "What are you doing?!"... Needless to say, as soon as she started the turn, she paused a moment, it felt like to me anyways, and a semi hit her driver side door.

Since it had just started to rain, there was enough oil on the road. #slickrain That made the semi smack us on the side and we just slid sideways, still in both Northbound lanes. "Smack!" again.... we slide.. again... "Smack!" this time, the semi's grille is beside my left shoulder, the driver against my shoulder, I can reach out and touch the grille of the semi from my passenger seat, the truck is now on top of her. It isn't smacking us anymore it is coming to a stop and pushing us along as it slides, while her car slowly gets further and further underneath. We are screaming, She is in agony... then she is unconscious. The truck stops.

We stop, I run out of the little sports car, my roommate runs out. At this time, shock and adrenaline is flowing intensely and we are not sure what is going on at the time. Running around the vehicle confused... & hurt. The car we were in just got ran over by an 18 wheeler and our driver, new friend, was still pinned inside.

People we knew and were supposed to hang out with were all surrounding the car. Asking me questions, just all in my face. All I know is I can't really focus and speak. Police and EMT's arrive and I black out. I remember being in the ambulance and waking up in the ER. It all happened so fast, but I still felt like it would've been way worse. I feel like there would have been a fatality if God's angels were not there. I feel there was a testimony to tell for the driver of the car.

I had a severe concussion and where a few more added spinal injuries created. My roommate and I had gotten away without severe damage and was sent home after some hours in the ER. Our new friend was in a coma for weeks, ICU, where she suffered punctured spleen, liver, torn everything. This girl was beat up. She received severe lifelong damage that night for sure. I cannot imagine how she felt when she woke up. She was so young at the time. I was still young and clueless myself. I definitely didn't listen to God, or angels warning me. I was in my own little world. How can God still work in our lives if we don't continue talking to Him and believing?

I lost contact with her and I wasn't able to hear how she was healing after a few years passed. I had seen her a time or two after, when she was walking with a cane. If I remember correctly, she was paralyzed for some time. Many surgeries later she was doing better. She may have gotten roughed up, but she most definitely had someone save her life. I felt bad not staying around and just taking care of her for the rest of her life, but we just went separate ways. I didn't really know her. This was the first time really talking to her & first time riding with someone I didn't know. I hope she is doing well today. I recently forgot her name and now I feel even worse about this story. I have told this story many times and always said her name. I just forgot. It breaks my heart, I could not remember this poor girl's name all of a sudden.

That was just one of my car accidents I was in. I was in 2 other wrecks. Those times.... I drove.

The next major one was years later, and I was driving that time. I had 2 kids and I just dropped them off at school. I was about 27 or so at the time and they were pre-k and 1st grade age.

Every day when we would get in the car and head to school, my youngest at the time would say, "Click it or ticket mommy!" and I would make sure my seatbelt was latched before we left. Well, this one day I am in a hurry, rushing like crazy having to drop them off, head back home for something, and then get back to town for work. We get in the car, my kid says her thing, and I click it. I get to the school, I get out in the drop off, kiss them bye and jump back in the car. I do not buckle back up.

As I am getting onto the highway to head home, no seatbelt clicked, and playing on my phone. Yep, you read that right and I can tell you never again will I be on phone while driving. I was flying, speeding down the highway. Driving, playing, not paying attention, just being dumb. I reach

down to change the radio, look up and there is an old car getting on the highway from the shoulder, pulled out in front of me as if they just assumed I was going to move over (because most people paying attention does). I swerve my Montero and since there was also a good amount of wind that day, the SUV caught air and I was flying instead of driving. #inclementweatherdriving

I remember looking down as the corner driver's side fender was heading towards the ground. I could see the white dotted lines on the highway zip by quickly. Can you imagine the lines whip one after another very quickly as you watch plummeting towards them? It was in that moment, I knew I was about to hit the highway and I was going to be in trouble. This was gonna sting a bit. I without hesitation yelled, "Jesus!" and in a split second I realized I did not click it or ticket after getting out to kiss my babies bye. I realized this, because the moment I said His name I felt an angel grab my shoulders & head, then push me up against the seat just before the vehicle hit the pavement. #angelsamongus

I watched from inside my vehicle as it slid on the driver side, I am sideways. I am not leaning against the driver door, I am perfectly placed still in the seat... sitting sideways, yet upright still.. The driver window was busted out and asphalt was moving fast just a few inches from my face. My left side of my face could have been rubbed off from the highway, but I was held gently and safely against the seat until the vehicle spun and ended up facing the other direction and on the shoulder of the highway. It was like I was gently moved out off the highway and away from hurting the old car I swerved to miss and didn't cause the semi and truck behind me to wreck.

I did get a ticket and did pay for being dumb. Moral of the story, do not touch a phone while you are driving..... period. Never ever is it worth it. A few minutes until you can stop and call or text them back isn't going to kill you, but replying while driving can. Also, slow down in inclement weather, and that means go slower than the speed limit in heavy winds, so I found out.

The Montero slid over 300+ feet that day and no injuries. Well, I didn't get checked out but I'm pretty sure that's where my broke big toes came from and I had busted knuckles because I couldn't open any doors. The vehicle was on it's side when it stopped. I had to go out the back hatch but I punched the windows to try and get out first. lol I did not break the window at all just saying.

Remember to always give God praise for the blessings you receive, and it's okay to thank His obedient angels also. I'm sure He appreciates us understanding and loving the angels. I know I am very thankful that I can call His name and He has them beside me ready for when I need. #fountainofseedsliving #fountainofseedslife #sprititualnotreligious
